Vintage 1960s ‘Waterfall’ Bookcase in Teak & Walnut

This little mid-century, graduated bookcase is a charmer. We’ve not come across anything quite like it before. It’s very well built in two tones of wood, teak and walnut on the sides, with a high gloss, lacquered finish. We were advised by the former owner that it dates from the 1960s – they can recall it being in their family from then. The lovely thing about open book shelves is you’re not constrained by height or depth. You can add trailing plants and pile books high on the top shelf. This would also work well in a bathroom for lotions, potions and flannels.
