Victor Wilkins designed for G Plan in the 1960s, including the ever-popular Fresco range. His designs show a strong Scandinavian influence and were made in solid teak. These particular chairs are a rarer find, pre-dating the more common Fresco dining chair with the round seat and back pad. They have a parred-pack elegance to them with subtle curves showcasing the richly toned teak. The original navy blue seat pads are still in place, a little faded with age, but perfectly usable as they are. Updating them would be an easy, cost-effective job as the pads push out for new covers to be stapled into place. Beautifully made to be robust, reliable and cope with family life, they’re a very fine set of dining chairs.
