Set of Six 1960s Teak Dining Chairs by Ib Kofod Larsen for G Plan

Renowned Danish designer, Ib Kofod Larsen, collaborated with British maker in the 1960s, producing the ‘Danish’ range for them. This set of six teak dining chairs hails from this period. His designs for G Plan have stood the test of time and are still highly-prized today, snapped up by midcentury collectors. This particular chair model went on to have an curved upholstered back rest, more commonly seen, but we love this earlier version with its slightly winged top corners. The black leatherette seat pads are all original and in great order with much left to give. And of course wipe-clean vinyl is a good choice for lively dinner tables, perhaps with youngsters. Equally though, if you wished to upgrade the seats, this is a very straightforward job for an upholsterer. They are a beautifully designed and well-crafted set where consideration has been given to every aspect of their use from the generous width of the seat to how they look from the back when tucked in around the table.
