A rare and wonderful thing, this compact, 1960s sideboard / double door cabinet was made by highly reputable maker, AH McIntosh of Kirkcaldy. They were a renowned British midcentury manufacturer, greatly influenced by the Scandinavian aesthetic of the time, and you can see this echoed in their pieces… clean lines, balanced design, practicality. Their choice of quality materials and craftsmanship were superior and the fact McIntosh furniture is still highly prized today is a testament to this. This neatly proportioned piece gives much versatility as its less space-demanding than a regular MCM sideboard but there is still a great deal of storage space. It would serve well as a TV / media unit, as well as a sideboard / credenza in a lounge or dining room. We love the vertical, slender handles in darker afromosia and the tall peaks of wood grain across the door fronts.
