Vintage Victorian Dark Oak Console Table
A stalwart of the bygone home, console tables were positioned at a central point in the home, a place for every-day items to be stored and stowed until you next left the house. Often found in the hallway or entrance hall, its where keys, hats, bags were left and where the telephone resided. These days, with our rooms becoming more open-plan and multifunctional, the role of the hallway console table has transitioned to become an occasional piece for any room, ideal for a lamp, plants, books and display. This Victorian dark oak example comes with two drawers each with a generous brass handle.
Description
These are original, vintage table is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. It has been cleaned and a neutral, natural beeswax polish applied but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. The drawers slide with ease, have securely attached original handles and clean, tidy interiors. It does carry some minor scuffs and marks as you might expect with a vintage piece but nothing to call out. It is well-made, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair.
