Vintage Scratch-made Open ‘Pigeon Hole’ Shelves / Record Storage

This neat, scratch-made, open storage box comes with bags of old-fashioned charm and character. We don’t know much about its former life but it’s very well-crafted with banks of five slim, cutaway dividers / shelves on each side. It can either be freestanding on the floor, on top of another piece of furniture, or you could opt to add brackets at the back and wall-mount it. You also have the option of setting it on its end so it’s in portrait mode. The dividers then run vertically, making it fantastic for easy-access vinyl storage.

Description

This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in fair to good, used condition. We have given it a clean and applied a little beeswax polish to the exterior wood but otherwise the finish is original and as shown. Superficially it’s rather knocked and marked from use but structurally this is a very well-made, robust little unit with a solid pitch pine carcass and with visible dovetail joints on the corners. If you so chose to, you could further restore by sanding it and oiling / varnishing. It comes with no fixtures or fittings but you could add brackets to wall-mount it.
