Vintage G Plan Fresco Teak Round Extending Dining Table

G Plan made robust, handsome every-day furniture for the busy, modern home and the fact its pieces are still so highly regarded, in such good order and going strong through generations is a testament to their quality. Their appeal endures. From its Fresco range, designed by VB Wilkins, this round dining table in teak with an subtly darker afromosia edge is in fantastic condition and would be a perfect family dining table, comfortably seating four as a round. It extends with a hidden, fold-out central panel for when there are six guests for dinner. Thoughtfully designed with long, tapered legs, it’s a classic midcentury acquisition.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good, used condition. The table has been cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied, but otherwise the original finish has been left alone as it’s in such fantastic order. To extend the table to full capacity the two halves are simply pulled apart to reveal the folded extension underneath. This then fans out flat and the two sides are pushed back together for a seamless table top. All mechanisms, runners and hinges are in very good, working order. There are some very minor, superficial marks here and there on the top, borders and legs in line with its age and function, including a light surface scratch on the table top which we have shown in a photo. In the overall context of the table top, it’s not very visible. It’s a very well-made table that’s solid and sturdy. The G Plan label is still in place on the extension.
