Vintage Ercol Windsor Model 384 Oval Dining Table

The iconic Windsor Model 384 dining table has stood the test of time – this piece dates from the sixties and has a beautiful, golden ‘blonde’ English elm top sitting on four long, beech splayed legs. Windsor tables are characterised by their soft edges that gently fall away. It’s an expertly balanced piece of midcentury design. The drop leaves are extended by Ercol’s signature pull mechanism on the underside. With the leaves down, it’s a compact table that will tuck neatly against the wall with chair space at either end for two. When required, it can extend partially for three diners or fully to a generous oval that can comfortably accommodate four. Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality solid wood and the fine craftsmanship – this kitchen table was built to last.

Description

This original, vintage table is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. The table has been checked, cleaned and table top has been restored so a partial restoration. This involved chemically stripping away the original finish on the top and leaves, followed by oil and wax for a durable, consistent finish. The table border / base and legs have been cleaned and buffed with a natural beeswax polish but otherwise the finish is original here. It carries some very light scuffs and marks here and there, as you would expect with a vintage piece of this age – do browse our photos for an accurate representation of tone and condition. It is solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. The drop leaves extend by lifting and pulling out the arms underneath. All mechanisms and hinges are in very good, working order.
