Small Vintage Art Deco Walnut Waterfall Bookcase

This compact, British-made, open bookcase is a handsome vintage find and looks striking adorned with books and trinkets. The fixed shelves are graduated from top to bottom with varying shelf depths and heights, hence being called a ‘waterfall bookcase’. And this is exaggerated further with the bow front and arched back. The design may be simple but we love the distinctive nods to Art Deco with curves on all sides. Well crafted in walnut, it’s a piece that has served a lifetime or two but has many more years to go!

Description

This original, used piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, vintage condition. It has been checked, cleaned and polished with a natural beeswax but otherwise the finish is original and as such it comes with minor marks, rings and knocks which can be seen across our photos. The shelves are graduated (hence ‘waterfall’) both in height and depth, with smallest at the top, largest at the bottom and they are fixed in position. It is solid and stable with no repairs or areas of concern. Do browse through our photos for an accurate sense of its condition – there are signs of use and ageing. There is no maker’s mark. It’s solid and stable and British in origin.
