Vintage 1970s G Plan Fresco Compact Sideboard

G Plan delivers on lots of helpful home storage with this more compact 1970s teak sideboard from its Fresco range. With cupboard space a-plenty and a sectioned, wide drawer, a great deal can be stowed away. A lock has been added to the taller cupboard in later years, a useful addition. It comes a little marked, primarily on the top surface where there is some sunlight fading but regardless, this is a good-looking midcentury piece, immediately recognisable as G Plan.

Description

This original, vintage sideboard is ‘sold as seen’. Overall it is in good, used condition. The piece has been cleaned, inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied and buffed on the external surfaces, but otherwise the finish is original. The top drawer is sectioned and felt-lined for cutlery on one side. It has a clean interior and slides easily. The double door cupboard below is also clean and tidy inside with just light signs of use. Both doors are in good, working order with no concerns. The right hand cupboard is clean and tidy inside too and there is an adjustable shelf here. A lock has been added at a later point but it’s been very well done and the piece comes with two keys. All handles, hinges and closures are in good condition throughout. There are marks, faded areas and scratches across the exterior wood surfaces, especially so on the sideboard top. Do browse through our numerous photos to get an accurate sense of this. This wear and tear is reflected in our price but we would add that this is superficial and doesn’t affect the function or appeal of the piece too greatly. It’s still very handsome. As you would expect from G Plan it’s solidly made and sturdy. The maker’s label can be found inside the drawer. Do browse through our photos for an accurate sense of its superb condition.
