Vintage 1970s Ercol Three Tier Drinks / Hostess Trolley in Original Dark Finish

As you would expect from Ercol, this is a beautifully designed and expertly crafted, functional piece of solid wood furniture in its original, darker finish. Drinks / hostess trollies rather fell out of fashion but they were a staple of the 1970s – 1980s home, essential for socialising to move drinks and canapes around with ease. They’re now enjoying something of a renaissance as they make good space dividers in open plan interiors, plus they can serve well as freestanding, moveable shelves for books, plants and more. The current trend though is to use them as mobile cocktail ‘cabinets’ with plenty of shelf space for bottles, glasses and mixing. This one is in fantastic condition, moving freely on its castors.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. It’s beautifully made in solid beech and elm, Ercol’s favoured woods, and the dark, original finish is ‘Old Colonial’. It dates from the 1970s. We have cleaned the piece and applied a natural beeswax polish but otherwise left the original finish alone as it’s in great order. There are very minor scuffs and marks to the wood, primarily on the top tier as you might expect – please refer to our photos. The castors move freely and are original.
