Vintage 1930s Dark Oak Quarter Veneered Front Chest of Drawers
A characterful, elegant chest of drawers with a considerable history, it dates from the 1930s and has much old-fashioned charm. The standout feature here are the quarter veneered drawer fronts. The radiating grain is outstanding and the neat brass handles are the perfect finish. We love too the curvaceous cabriole feet which create space around this substantial item of bedroom furniture. It comes with knocks and marks from its previous lives but they just add to its vintage appeal in our eyes.
Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. All four drawers slide with ease, feature dovetail joints and have clean, tidy interiors with only light signs of wear. The top surface carries marks and patches from use – please refer to our photo. The drawer fronts are in very good order and feature a quarter veneer pattern and have brass handles. Overall it’s very well constructed, solid and stable.
