Set of Four Vintage G Plan Fresco Dining Chairs by VB Wilkins

Probably G Plan’s most sought-after and prized midcentury chair, it’s the circular seats and exaggerated curves that make this Fresco model so coveted. There is nothing quite like them. Designed by VB Wilkins in the 1960s, they looking striking from every angle. We love how they look from the back, so important when tucked in around the dining table, and the tapering of the legs. With upholstered seats and curved back panels, they’re very comfortable too, with just the right balance of softness and support. They come in great condition and have been reupholstered in recent years in an inky blue fabric, although this could of course be updated to suit your home colour scheme. A superb statement quartet.

Description

This original, vintage set of four dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, the chairs are in good – very good, used condition. The teak chair frames have been cleaned, checked and polished with a 100% natural beeswax product to revive their shine. There is the odd minor scuff and blemish here and there but overall they are in very good order with no repairs or areas of concern. The seat pads and backs have professionally reupholstered within the past 10 years with new foam, materials and wool fabric. There are no threadbare areas or heavy stains but there are signs of wear / use including some light surface marks, a little piling on the edges and some compression to the seat foams. This is shown in our photos. All four chairs are solid and stable with no wobbles. As you can appreciate from our photos, these chairs are superbly crafted. The G Plan label is affixed to the underside of each chair.
