Midcentury Remploy Teak Hostess Drinks Trolley with Removable Trays

Dating from the 1970s and made by British company, Remploy, this is a teak hostess trolley designed for moving drinks and food from room to room and to your guests. This particular design is rather special though as it features, not only a large, removable, double-sided top tray – one side wood, one side Formica with handles on either end – but the lower tray can be removed too. Perfect for parties and TV dinners! An unusual, retro piece that can be put to good use in lots of different ways in the modern home. Load it with plants, use it as book storage, as a mobile drinks cabinet, as a space divider. Or use it as originally intended.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, it is in very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the piece, applying a natural beeswax polish to the wood. The two removable trays simply slot into place, lifting in and out easily. The trays themselves are in very good order, including the white Formica on the double-sided top tray. The original castors are in good order too and roll with ease. There are some light scuffs and marks to the wood here and there in line with its age and function but it’s in remarkably good order.
