Midcentury 1960s Swedish Silver Bubble Spotlight Floor Lamp by Hemi Klot – Fully Restored

Now here’s a statement lamp and then some! Made by Hemi Klot, we believe it dates from the late 1960s. It’s got a definite space-age look to it and bags of retro kitsch charm. The single bubble shade is very shiny and highly reflective (spot the photographer!) and it can be rotated to create a very sculptural object from all sides that functions as a light too. It comes stamped with the maker’s mark, adding to its provenance and we particularly love how the silver globe shade is partnered with a gold arm, stem and base. Fully restored to modern compliance regulations, it’s ready to plug in and be the talking point your home needs.

Description

This original, vintage floor lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition and has been fully restored with care and expertise. The lamp has been rewired with new black, fabric-braided flex, an energy efficient bulb and plug, and it has PAT tested to meet modern regulations. The spotlight can be rotated and it can be height-adjusted on the main stem by unscrewing / tightening the arm. As you can see from our photos, the metalwork including the weighted base carries minor tarnishes and scratches – please refer to our photos. This light wear is in line with its age and we don’t feel it detracts from the appeal of the piece. It’s imported from Denmark, is stamped with the maker’s mark and dates from the late 1960s.
