Large Vintage Industrial Teak ‘Pigeon Hole’ Storage Unit
We can think of so many good uses for an industrial, old-fashioned piece like this. Smart, no-nonsense and practical, it could serve well in any room in the modern home. An entrance hall for shoes and hats most immediately springs to mind but also bathrooms for towels and toiletries, bedrooms for sweaters and accessories, living rooms for ceramics and trinkets, to the home office, to utilities and more. Freestanding and not too tall, its twelve open-front pigeon holes are generous and deep in size and can accommodate a great deal. It’s robustly built and hard-wearing with lots of old-fashioned charm.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have cleaned the piece inside and out, applying a natural beeswax polish but otherwise left the original finish in tact. This was once a ‘working’ piece so there are signs of its former life and light wear and tear which is shown accurately across our photos. It’s well constructed, heavy and solid, ready to withstand much use. There are twelve generous pigeon holes, all with clean, tidy interiors and a further shelf on top. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but it’s British in origin and dates from the 1970s.
