Large Vintage 1970s Austinsuite Teak Desk with Drawers

This 1970s British piece by reputable maker, Austinsuite, started life as a dressing table but as is frequently the case, the mirror has been removed at some point across the years and the piece repurposed as a desk. And these ex-bedroom items do make fantastic desks as their shallow depth works well for laptops and flat screens. This one is wide so there’s an expansive worktop and a further six drawers, three on each side, for organising and storing. It’s in great order inside and out with just light signs of wear and tear.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned and polished this desk, applying a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood surfaces but otherwise the finish is original. All six drawers are well made with original metal handles securely attached and they slide with ease. Their interiors are lightly marked through use, as we’ve shown. The handles are a little tarnished with age. The exterior wood surfaces carry minor scuffs, knocks and marks here and there but nothing to specific to flag, just wear and tear in line with its age. The table is well-crafted and the Austinsuite stamp can be found in a drawer base.
