Large Traditional Vintage Oak Desk with Three Drawers
This is an imposing, large solid oak desk with generous proportions. There’s loads of workspace, both on the top and also in the three drawers – the right hand drawer is double height. As you can see from our photos, this ‘working’ piece has been used day in, day out across the years and it carries scuffs and marks across its surfaces, giving it a much character and charm. A fine, stately piece of traditional vintage furniture, dating from the fifties / sixties, that’s really well made and has a great deal to offer either in the home or at the office.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. The desk has been cleaned and thoroughly checked over. We have lightly sanded back and oiled the top. There were some historic woodworm holes notes on one side. Although old, as a precautionary measure, we treated the desk and filled these holes. There are three drawers in total which all slide with ease and are in good, solid order with dovetail joints. There are marks and scuffs to the internal woodwork but nothing to specifically call out. With the exception of the top, the exterior wood is marked, chipped and scuffed – please refer to our photos. We haven’t tried to mask this and we think these marks of life are very much part of its vintage charm. The desk is very well made, solid and sturdy. A fine, old piece that’s seen much life!
