Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have thoroughly serviced and cleaned the sideboard inside and out. The top has been restored, a process that involved chemically stripping back the original surface (gentler than sanding ensuring the vintage character of the piece isn’t removed entirely), followed by layers of matt varnish for a durable, consistent finish, so a partial restoration. All other surfaces have been revived with a natural beeswax polish to nourish and restore shine but otherwise the finish is original. There are two outer cupboards, each with a removable shelf inside. Although clean and tidy inside, there are some remnants of tape / paper where they look to have been lined at some point. There is a drinks cabinet in the centre with a lined fall-door for mixing drinks and a further shelf inside. All hinges, handles and closures are in very good working order. The three drawers are well-made with dovetail joints and they slide well. The central drawer is lined and sectioned for cutlery. All interiors are clean and tidy. There are minor knocks and blemishes here and there but nothing to flag – please refer to our photos. It is stable and solid, a well-made item with no repairs or areas of concern.
