Set of Four Original Vintage Ercol ‘Windsor’ Model 400 Dining Chairs
This set of four vintage Windsor dining chairs, designed by Ercol in the 1960s, never go out of style. Featuring just four back spindles – a rarer model – held in place with Ercol’s trademark curved-wood loop, they are a combination of beech and elm blond woods. They were designed as much for dining comfort as they were good looks. Mix and match with other wooden dining chairs around your kitchen table for a contemporary country look.
Description
These are vintage pieces that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good – excellent condition, having been at some point in their lives restored; the original finish has been stripped and then they have been oiled. We have since given them a good clean and applied an all-natural, high quality beeswax polish. There are marks and scuff to the legs, which is to be expected of chairs of this age. All the joints are solid with no movement or creaks, and there have been no visible repairs to the wood. Although they no longer retain their blue label, they do all have Ercol’s impressed, 1960 British standard kite mark. These chairs date from the 1960s/early 70s.
