Elegant Vintage British-made 1960s Teak Chest of Drawers
A smart, midcentury chest of drawers, beautifully constructed in teak with a clean, unfussy design that shows off the rich, warm wood grain wonderfully well. It’s the brass and wood-inset, square handles that make this piece stand out from the crowd and they add elegance to this bedroom staple. Plentiful storage with four generous drawers and sitting on tapered legs to give it space and reduce its bulk. A fine vintage piece of British origin.
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the piece inside and out, applying a natural wax polish to the exterior surfaces. The four drawers all slide with ease, have secure handles in good order, are constructed with dovetail joints and well very made. The interiors are clean and tidy. The exterior wood has some light marks, chips and scuffs in line with its age. These can be seen in our photos – they are minor and not particularly noticeable. It’s a well-made piece, most likely British in origin and it dates from the late 1960s in our experienced view. It’s stable and solid with no signs of repair. Sadly there is no maker’s mark.
