Antique Arts & Crafts ‘Chest on Chest’ Tall Set of Drawers
We never fail to be charmed by these grand, old pieces. This Arts & Crafts era chest of drawers is what’s known as a ‘chest on chest’. Tall and stately, it provides masses of storage across six spacious drawers. It comes with life’s knocks and scars across its surfaces but what a life it’s had at well over 100 years old!. British in origin, it’s superbly made, substantial and solid.
Description
This is an original, used tall drawer chest that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, vintage condition. The piece has been cleaned, inside and out, and the exterior wood has had a natural beeswax polish applied. The drawers slide with ease and have clean, tidy interiors. The original handles are securely attached and in very good order. As you will see when you browse our photos there are knocks, chips and marks across this antique piece – but this is in line with its age and function. We feel its part of its history and appeal. There are some historic wood worm holes on the side and back. Although, they look to be long gone, as a precautionary measure we have treated this and filled the holes on the side. It is solid and sturdy, with no signs of any historic damage or repair.
