As impressive, characterful desks go, this one ticks the boxes. An early 20th century desk in walnut veneer with burgundy Rexine inlay on the desktop and huge amounts of storage across four drawers. Identifiable as Art Deco at fifty paces, it dates from 1920s – 1930s and features all the signature flourishes from this design period that you might expect – strong lines, curves and rounded edges abound! Its proportions are generous and this is a remarkably heavy, solid vintage piece that looks as good from the back and it does from the front so good to free-stand in an office. There are minor signs of its former lives across its surfaces but these are very much part of its narrative and charm.
