Original Vintage 1970s Ladderax Single Bay Modular Shelf System

Truly versatile pieces of furniture, British maker, Staples Ladderax, made modular storage systems, incorporating shelves, desks, bookcases, drawers, drinks cabinets and more. These different elements can be configured in whichever way suits. This is a multi-functional, wall-leaning single bay, compromised of a fall-door, sectioned record cabinet, two teak shelves and a glass-front bookcase. Metal rods moor the units and shelves into position underneath and hang onto the ‘rungs’ of the ladder uprights, a very clever piece of design engineering that’s strong and stable. This is particular system with the later wooden ladder uprights dates from the 1970s. Ladderax took inspiration from Danish modular furniture and this piece of classic, vintage furniture would work in any room in the modern home from lounge to bedroom to kitchen. It can also be combined with other Ladderax systems but this single bay works brilliantly in a recess next to the chimney.
