At half a metre in diameter, this is a large, matt white, vintage shade designed to make a big impact when hung into position. It hails from Denmark and is unmistakably midcentury, dating from the 1970s. The multi-tiered shades mean that, when switched on, the light spills out at the different levels, creating glowing bands as well as downward illumination. There are some super details too which elevate this lighting – thin stripes of silver around the top and base sections.
