Designed by Victor Wilkins as part of his Fresco range for G Plan, this is the much sought after, more compact sideboard at just over 1.5m in width, perfect for rooms that can’t take its more common, big brother version. It’s constructed in a mix of teak, teak veneer and darker afromosia creating the subtle distinction across its different surfaces and signature handles. The teak grain is striped in honey-toned bands, a beautiful characteristic of aged wood. It packs in a great deal of storage with two small side cabinets, a large, double door central cupboard and three drawers at the top. It’s ideal for the dining room, lounge or family space where things need to be stowed regularly. The shapely legs and curved base bar of this sideboard give it a grace and elegance that the later plinth-based G Plan sideboard lack – they are much ‘heavier’ in looks. The condition of this piece is extraordinary considering its age with just the lightest signs of wear and tear.
