A really handsome, classic, Scandinavian armchair with great heritage, it’s Swedish in origin and dates from the early sixties. Designed by Erik Wörtz, this is the ‘Kolding’ low armchair he created for IKEA. We should point out that at that time, IKEA wasn’t the mass-produced, flat-pack furniture giant that it is today. Founded from humble beginnings in 1943, it collaborated with a great many leading furniture designers to produce well-crafted, top quality pieces that are highly collectable and prized today, this chair included. This chair is in remarkable condition given its years including its original black vinyl. Style with other lounge seating or use as a stand-alone piece in a bedroom, reading snug or corner that requires something handsome and inviting.
