Designed by Kai Kristiansen for Danish maker, Feldballes Møbelfabrik, in the 1960s, this is a particularly smart, little rosewood cabinet with unusual, rolling tambour doors. The overall design is minimalist and tidy – elegant simplicity and clean lines, letting the rich, dark grain of the rosewood take centre stage. Pieces like this are really versatile in the modern home and it wouldn’t look out of place in any room. It could be used as a media unit too at just the right height for a television. Either way, it’s hard to resist the clever engineering of those tambour doors!
