Midcentury Charcoal Study of a Reclining Woman – Framed & Signed

We rather fell in love with this moody charcoal study of a woman reclining by the window. The drawing has a melancholy, quiet atmosphere to it in our view. The mark-making is economical but extremely effective at capturing a moment in time. The artist, whose name we cannot decipher from their signature, shows great skill and confidence with their chosen charcoal medium at conveying her form in repose in a bedroom or on a sofa perhaps. We love the composition where space has been allowed below the figure versus the density of the dark curtain to one side at the top. Sadly there are water stains to the mount and picture which can be seen across our photos. We can forgive these ourselves but you might wish to explore how best to remedy this with a professional framer. The study comes in a custom-made Perspex box frame, as acquired, and is ready to hang.
