A vibrant, abstract still life oil painting of bottles and fruit, dated and signed ‘LM ’68’. The paint application is a complex mix of brush and palette knife with the artist building up thick layers, drawing into them further to create marks in relief. There’s a great deal of movement and texture here and the colours remain bright and vivid, a blend of browns, teals, ochre and purple. The painting is surface mounted beneath glass in a gold frame, as acquired, and is ready to hang.
