Elevate your dining room with this grand, extending table that has great provenance. Designed by Niels Otto Møller in the 1960s for JL Møller Møbelfabrik, this very fine, attributed piece arrived with us in rather sad condition. Although we knew it was something special, it was grubby and had a repair-gone-wrong on the table top. It went to off to our French polisher who wove his magic, finishing the table with high gloss lacquer and knocking back that poor damage to the veneer so that it’s now barely noticeable. It’s a stunning piece, showing that an every-day item of furniture like the humble dining table can be a thing of design beauty and history, as well as robust and functional. A perfect round in its regular mode, comfortably seating four. Pull the two sides apart to find the hidden folded extension in the the middle. This fans out and the side close for a seamless table top that can seat six – eight guests. The glossy table top finish makes the teak wood grain sing and we love the simplicity of the long, tapered solid teak legs.
