The design and build of this large, light oak desk from the 1950s / 1960s tells us it most likely came from a school, library or education institution originally. For all that the design is rather unfussy and plain, it makes up for in character. It’s a handsome, vintage piece albeit with a few knocks and bruises over its surfaces which add to its charm and appeal in our view. It would be perfect for the home worker who requires lot of work surface for planning and organising. The proportions are generous and the storage plentiful – there are six drawers in total with two further pull-out platforms. A solid, grand piece of functional furniture that’s really well made and has a good deal to offer.
