A grand, rather imposing antique piece providing masses of storage for books and treasures. Constructed in mahogany, it comes scarred and bruised with age and use but this is a really solidly made bookcase and with that aging comes considerable character and charm. The three shelves are height adjustable with a clever system – on either side there is a shaped peg that can be moved up and down notches. Simple but very effective. British-made and dating from the late 19th century.
