Immediately recognisable as Ercol, these rare, vintage dining chairs were produced from 1960-1982, with these examples dating from the 1960s/early 70s. You can see why these became known as Ercol’s ‘cowhorn’ chairs with their curvaceous, statement backs. Both the wide, oyster-shaped seat and the curved back have poppers for attaching cushioned seat pads, these can be easily sourced ready-made or made to order if you so wish, although the seats are just as comfortable without and we think look incredibly stylish minus the pads. The poppers can be easily unscrewed if surplus to requirement. These chairs rarely become available such is their enduring appeal. Although these were made as an accompaniment to the Ercol 449 dining chair, these statement carvers will fit into any dining room setting or even as standalone occasional chairs.
