At a glance, it looks like a regular vintage nightstand or side table but this was meant for ribbons, spools of thread and embroidery silks. This dark oak sewing table is an old-fashioned darling that dates from the early 20th century. Sitting on long legs to slot neatly beside a favourite chair, there is a lower lidded box, a small sectioned drawer and the table top is hinged with generous lined storage inside. Nicely and simply crafted in line with the Arts & Crafts aesthetic of the time, it can of course serve just as well as a nightstand or occasional table as well as a hobby box. A super, characterful piece.
