These grand, traditional sectional bookcases are increasingly sought-after and collectable, coveted by bibliophiles or those with treasures to display behind glass doors. Originally designed for barristers, legal institutions and private libraries, they are cleverly crafted to be freestanding with shelves that simply stack on top of each other. Each section comes with a lift-up glass door that slides back on itself. This three tier bookcase was made by British maker, Lebus, who started manufacturing such pieces in the late 19th / early 20th century so it comes with considerable age and character. And given this, its condition is quite remarkable and is in fantastic order throughout. We love the additional open display shelf on top.
