Vintage Sunn Expo Norwegian Brown Leather Armchair
A good-looking, vintage chair with excellent heritage. Made by Sunn Expo, Norway, we believe it dates from the late seventies / early eighties. It’s in super condition, both in terms of the original brown leather upholstery and the dark bentwood chair frame. Norwegian bentwood chairs are extremely comfortable seats and their ‘open’ design means they’re significantly less cumbersome than more traditional armchairs.
This is an original, used piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, vintage condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the brown leather nourished. The leather is soft, supple and in good order including the zips and buttons. There are some minor wrinkles to the upholstery. These are in line with how leather wears through use and are part of its character, adding to its appeal. The bentwood frame itself is sturdy and solid, with a few, very minor, age-related scuffs. The front right leg has a minor repair at the foot – it’s not hugely noticeable but please refer to our photo of this. The rubber webbing under the seat cushion is in good order too. The Sunn Expo label can be seen on the base of the chair. We recommend you browse our photos for an accurate sense of the super condition.
