Vintage Scandinavian Tall Two Door Teak Cabinet
This handsome two door cabinet is a fine piece of vintage Scandinavian furniture. Hailing from Denmark, its design sets it apart from other midcentury cabinets and sideboards. Whilst generous in capacity, it has an overall elegance about it from its brass door handles, rich patina and long, tapered legs. And those legs create height and space so this substantial cabinet doesn’t seem bulky or cumbersome.
A beautifully constructed, solid piece of furniture with a myriad of uses and, such is its design, it would sit comfortably in any room in the home, even the kitchen. The deeply toned patina on the door fronts is a joy and would partner with different woods and the clean, unfussy design means it would work with pieces of furniture from other periods too.
This is a cabinet that’s been looked after and cherished in its life to date – it’s in excellent condition – and it still have so much left to give. It should be noted that one of the sprung door clasps has lost its ball-bearing but this doesn’t prevent the door from closing or staying closed. It’s not on show and it could be replaced. A really practical vintage piece that can be put to good use in all manner of ways. The original export stamp is shown on the back.
