Vintage Orange Flowerpot Lamp by Verner Panton for Louis Poulsen
The iconic Danish flowerpot lamp designed in 1969 by Verner Panton for Louis Poulsen. It features two facing, semi-circular spheres, with one fitting inside the other. The original enamel finish is a vivid orange with the inside of the small shade finished in the original red and the large shade in white. It’s a sublime piece of midcentury design.

This is a collector’s piece that is designed to stand out, not least because of its colour but also because of its striking silhouette. When illuminated, the lower shade gives a beautiful gradated warm glow.
All parts of the shade are original and are in good-to-excellent condition. There is still a remnant of the original Louis Poulsen label on the inside of the large shade – you can just make out part of the logo.
The smaller shade sits on three metal arms which hold it rigid and in place. Two of these arms are missing the original crooked end. This doesn’t affect how the small shade hangs below the large one, nor is it very visible when the lamp is hung up. There is a very small chip on the rim of the small shade and again some minor chips around the hole where one of the metal arms sits. These small flaws are shown in the photos and the price is a reflects them.
It’s been restored and rewired with braided black flex and comes supplied with an energy-saving bulb, ready to adorn your ceiling.
