Vintage Midcentury Painted Red Pine Scullery Steps / Ladder
These antique scullery steps / ladders are ever-popular, adding vintage character and interest to any space they are placed into, whether wall-mounted as a feature, used as shelves or used as intended, as occasional indoor steps. This particular wooden ladder with seven steps is painted in cherry red which has worn in places adding to its rustic country-cottage charm. They most likely date from the 1950’s onwards.
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, rustic condition. It is solidly made and sturdy with no wobbles but there is wear to the paint work as you can see. We have lightly cleaned these steps but nothing too invasive as we wanted to retain the amazing wood / paint patination. The two hinges at the top of the steps move with ease, expanding and contracting the steps as intended. Likewise, jointed hinge that sets the steps in position is in good working order. Sadly there is no maker’s mark. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of condition.
