Vintage Midcentury Danish Glass Front Rosewood Bookcase

Beautiful, deeply patterned and richly toned rosewood takes centre stage on this neatly proportioned, glass-fronted bookcase. It’s a particularly elegant piece with fine design details from the discreet, simple handles; the gently tapered legs; and the refined, thin surround on the front doors to show off your books and precious treasures inside. There are three shelves – two on the left and one on the right, and these are height adjustable. Despite its Danish midcentury heritage, this design and dark wood would fit also into a more traditionally-styled space from lounge to hallway to bedroom.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent condition, dating from the 1960s/1970s. It’s made with a stunning rosewood / rosewood veneer and it’s solid and stable. We have cleaned and polished this piece. It is a vintage item however so does carry some minor marks from wear and tear in line with its age. There is one small area to note which can be seen in our photos. As you look at the piece from the front there is a patch of veneer damage at the back right edge. It isn’t very noticeable at all as it’s at the back edge and is small.  Please refer to our photos for a good sense of condition (note: the photo that shows the top surface has a light reflection – this isn’t an area of fading). The Danish furnituremakers control sticker is affixed to the back.
