Vintage Midcentury 1960s Wood & Chrome Tripod Floor Lamp
A Sputnik / space race-inspired floor lamp with a light oak wooden, tripod base and chrome stem, this is unmistakeably midcentury! Dating from the 1960s, it combines, shiny metal with softly contoured wood to create a particularly striking, handsome form. We’ve added a warm Edison bulb to not detract from the stand itself, but a fitting lampshade could be added for a greater impact. A fine, vintage piece that’s been fully restored ready for a new home.
Description
This vintage, restored light is ‘sold as seen’. The overall condition is excellent. The solid oak wooden elements are in near-immaculate condition. We have applied a natural wax polish. Likewise, the chrome stem is in excellent order with very few signs of wear. The lamp has been rewired with new, black braided flex and it’s been PAT certified. It’s solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. We have added a smoky Edison globe lightbulb which gives a gentle, warm glow, but this floor lamp would look best with a stylish lampshade.
