Vintage Handpainted Enamel Ukrainian Street Sign #2
Dating from somewhere between the 1930s-1950s, this original, Soviet-era, enamel street sign from the Ukraine is a particularly unusual find. It’s a metal sign that’s heavy and substantial, destined to be a talking point in the home or the garden. The black road name lettering has been hand-painted. Our Ukrainian is a little rusty so we’re not quite exactly what the road name translates as, but we DO know that вул means ‘Street’ and we believe лісова is ‘Forest’ so Forest Street.

The sign has small holes in each of its four corners so it can be easily affixed to a wall. There are minor chips and scratches to the enamel finish as you might expect with a piece of this age.
If you require further photos, would like to view the piece or have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
