Vintage G Plan Style Teak Extending Dining Table

This is an opportunity to acquire a fantastic, mid century teak dining table at a great price. At first glance, it looks exactly like G Plan’s ‘Fresco’ dining table but there are elements here that are slightly different… the extending mechanism and the more rounded table edge. We don’t want to incorrectly attribute it as something it’s not but regardless, this is a very well-made, good quality piece. In round mode it seats four and extended it will comfortable seat six. There is a small area of superficial damage but this handsome table is perfect for a busy family dining area, ready to take modern life’s knocks.

Description

This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good, used condition. The table has been cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied. Overall, the table is in very good order but there is some damage to the veneer on one edge. It looks as it there has been an attempt to remove a mark or scratch. Please refer to our photos. This damage is reflected in the price, although it’s worth noting, the finish is smooth and it’s not particularly noticeable. However, it cannot be repaired as it’s damage to the veneer surface. The mechanism to extend the table is in excellent, working order. There are discreet hooks on each side of the table which are unclipped and the two halves pull out to reveal the extension underneath. The extension then folds out with a simple, smooth movement and the table sides then pushes back into position. Extended, it can comfortably seat six. It’s a very well-made piece that’s solid and sturdy.
