Vintage French SNSA Art Deco Tambour Screen / Room Divider
Dating from the 1930’s-1940’s, this original Art Deco tambour rolling screen oozes glamour and elegance. It’s simply stunning. We love the detail along the top. With French origins, it was made by SNSA – the brass manufacturer plates are attached to each edge – and although unmistakably vintage, this screen makes a beautiful room divider. The tambour slated design means it can be rolled up to be neatly stowed when not needed. It can of course be used as a dressing screen too.
Description
This piece is in incredibly good shape given its considerable years. There are some minor knocks and marks to the pitch pine – see our photos for an accurate idea of the condition – but these are minimal and in no way detract from the piece. In fact they enhance it in our view. There are no repairs that we can see. We have noted in the photos, one minor split in one of the tambour lengths which only appears on one side, not the reverse.
