Vintage Danish Brown Leather Armchair with Sloped Arms

It’s the sloping arms that set this vintage, midcentury Danish chair apart from others. With gentle curves and contours on all sides, it’s in fantastic shape, and its unfussy design and neutral brown leather will fit next to other colours and styles of seating, so an excellent accompanying piece. With a generous seat depth and plump cushions, it’s as comfortable as you might imagine.

Description

This original Danish armchair is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, vintage condition and dates from the late 1960’s / early 1970’s. The leather upholstery has been cleaned and the wooden legs waxed. The two leather cushions are in excellent order with buttons securely in place, working zips and plump inners.  The fixed leather upholstery on the main frame is in very good order. There are minor scuffs and creases from use as you would expect with vintage leather, both on the frame and the cushions – this is seen in our photos. This is very much part of its character and appeal in our view. There is a very small tear in the back of the chair about 1cm long. As it’s on the back, it’s not visible, is very discreet anyway and it’s unlikely to deteriorate further as this isn’t an area that would get wear. We’ve shown this in our pictures. The teak legs are solid and stable, as is the rest of the frame. We can see no visible repairs to the frame or upholstery. It’s in very good overall shape. Sadly there is no visible maker’s mark.
