Vintage 1970s Nathan Media Record Cabinet with Drawer
If you’re after the perfect mid century cabinet for your turntable and your most precious vinyl, this is the one. Featuring a hinged top to access your record player, a glass-fronted cabinet to show off your prized albums and useful lower drawer, it’s extremely practical and extremely neat at the same time with compact proportions. Made by Nathan in teak veneer, it was made in the 1970s and although made for the record enthusiast, it would serve well as a display cabinet or a more general media cabinet for your DVD player or digital radio perhaps.
Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good – excellent, used condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood. The lower drawer slides with ease and has a clean, tidy interior. The glass door’s closure is in excellent order and inside there is a height adjustable shelf with the original metal brackets in place. The top of the cabinet is hinged, designed to accommodate a turntable. The back of the cabinet is open for lead access and there appears to be a replacement ply panel here but it’s well attached and not seen as it’s at the rear. There are some very minor scuffs here and there but overall it’s in excellent order. It’s very well put together, solidly made with no areas of concern. Sadly the Nathan maker’s mark is no longer in place.
