Vintage 1960s Woven Rattan Hoop Chair

What a glamourous chair this is… it needs accessorising with a cocktail! This midcentury hoop chair, woven with rattan on a black metal frame with gold, ball feet, would create an instant focal point in any room from boudoir to bathroom to conservatory. It has considerable charm and character, and is in very good order given its years.

Description

This is an original, vintage rattan chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good – very good, used condition. We have lightly surface cleaned the rattan and metal frame. There are signs of wear and tear in line with its age but this adds to its authenticity and appeal in our view. The black-painted frame carries some scuffs and dents and there are some loose rattan ends here and there across the seat (see our photos) but nothing likely to deteriorate greatly or to stop it from being enjoyed. You could opt to glue some of these areas to add stability further down the line, depending on how frequently it’s used. Sadly there is no maker’s mark.
