Vintage 1950s Teak Sewing Hobby Table

A really sweet, vintage sewing table in teak, dating from the 1950s and most likely British-made, that sits on tall legs and has generous storage space inside for sewing, knitting, books or snacks. We like that its design means it’s not obviously a sewing table – at a first glance it looks like a bedside stand or regular side table, and indeed, it would be useful in either of these roles. The inside is lined in the original satin with a padded lid panels for needles.

Description

This is an original, used piece that is ‘sold as seen’.  It is in good, used condition. We’ve lightly cleaned the piece. The lid lifts with ease with its hinges and closure in sound order. There are scuffs and marks to the external and internal wood, to be expected with a piece of this age and purpose. There is, however, nothing specific to call out. The original satin lining is a little grubby with use. You could attempt to clean this in situ (it’s fixed in position) or replace it. The table is solid and sturdy with no wobbles or repairs that we can see. Please browse all our photos for an accurate sense of the overall great condition of this piece.
