Unusual 1970s Vintage Danish Chestnut Brown Leather Chair
An unusual vintage find, this 1970s Danish leather chair sits on long wooden legs. The design is classic with straight sides and clean lines, reminiscent of Borge Mogensen’s sofas and chairs, but it’s the taller stature that marks this seat out. It’s in great condition and its smart, simple good looks and neutral, chestnut brown tones will partner well with other seating. Vintage leather comes with some marks from its former life but that very much adds to its enduring appeal. And a practical choice too as it’s robust and easy to keep clean.

Description
This is an original, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the leather, applying a nourishing leather balm, and the wooden legs. The leather seat cushion is in excellent order with a working zip and a plump inner. The fixed leather upholstery on the main frame is also in very good condition. There are wrinkles and signs of use but this is in line with what you would expect with vintage leather – it’s part of its ‘lived in’ appeal. There is a small water mark on the finishing cloth, hidden underneath the seat cushion, at the back. We’ve shown this in our photos. The dark finish on wooden legs carries knocks and chips but nothing specific to call out, just minor wear and tear. The chair is solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. Sadly there is no maker’s mark on the piece but it’s an item imported directly from Denmark so is well-made and comes with a good pedigree.
